Swim

We will have 1 swim session in a pool and 2 in open water.

Silverthorne Recreation Center pool swim: Coach Kurt will provide swim stroke analysis and drills to improve your swim technique.

North Pond, Silverthorne open water swim sessions: We will have experienced triathletes swimming with you and in kayaks nearby. We will practice sighting and swimming around a buoy to mimic the race experience. We will practice putting on a wetsuit and taking it off quickly as you would in a triathlon, as well as reviewing the rules of triathlon swimming.

Bike

The rides will mostly be on a bike path surrounding Lake Dillon.

We will have experienced cyclists riding with the group(s) and have sag support for flat tires, inclement weather, or tired riders.

We recommend bringing your own bike but if you can't, we can help you rent one from a local bike shop (we will get you to and from the shop for rental and help with bike fit).

We will also have a bike-fitting session at Summit Sports Lab in Silverthorne, where one camp attendee will get a free bike fit by Aaron Castonguay, professional bike fitter!

Run

The run portion of the Silverthorne camp will be on a local recreational path that borders Lake Dillon.

You'll learn strategic skills to improve your run training and all about fueling your runs to optimize performance.

TRANSITIONS:

This is the fourth component to triathlon training and one that is often neglected! We will practice setting up T1 and T2 and teach you how to shave minutes off your transition times.

Mini Triathlon

Image 4-3-26 at 10.54 AM.jpg

We will have a mini-triathlon on Sunday for you to practice your new skills! This will entail swimming, biking, and running short distances with T1 and T2 practice as well.

Our past camp participants have said this was the most valuable (and most fun) part of the camp! Because we limit our camps to only 10 people, you will get lots of 1:1 time with both Kurt and Cindy!

More Confidence. Better Races. Here’s Proof.

“Kurt and Cindy were incredible… They personalized the experience to exactly what we needed. Kurt even fixed my bike gears and helped me learn to ride with clips—totally unexpected.

I love how passionate they are about supporting triathletes at every level. The encouragement, the location, and even the meals were amazing. Highly recommend this camp!”

“As a newbie, I joined the camp after my first Sprint tri—and used what I learned to complete an Olympic distance just weeks later.

The coaching on swimming, running, biking, and race prep was incredibly valuable. I left more confident, better prepared, and actually excited about training. Highly recommend, especially for beginners!”

“We attended before our first triathlon and left feeling completely prepared. Even as former college swimmers, we learned so much about open water and the tri world.

We gained confidence, had a blast, and even found ourselves helping others on race day!”

“This camp was so much fun—from the welcome dinner to the scenic rides. Kurt improved my open water swimming and running cadence, and Cindy’s nutrition advice was incredibly helpful (especially as a vegan).

We felt so welcomed and made friends for life!”
