If you’ve been around Summit Sports Lab for a while, you know we focus on what drives results. If you are new to us, welcome!
We care about people and being the best versions of themselves.
We care about building something that matters here in the mountains.
So when we say we’ve updated our branding, its not just a logo change. This is a reflection of what we’ve been building behind the scenes.
Three Pillars. One System.
The new SSL is simple at first glance: three colors in motion, it’s intentional. Each stripe represent a core pillar of how we approach human health and performance:
Blue is for Athletic Performance
You cannot improve what you cannot measure. This is where we push ourselves. Strength. Power. Efficiency. Output. It’s VO2 Max testing, lactate testing, bike fitting, running analysis, coaching, nutrition, everything that helps you perform at a higher level.
Purple is for Longevity
This is the long game. Life long prosperity. Are you able to do what you want to now? Are you planning on how you will keep doing that for your entire life? How you move, fuel, recover, and age over the decades matters. VO2 capacity, mobility, strength, resiliency, these are the systems that keep you doing what you love, for life.
Green is for Recovery and Rehab
Getting injured happens. Recovery doesn’t happen on its own. We take into account tissue quality, pain management, surgery, return-to-sport, and rebuilding resilient bodies that don’t just survive but adapt.
These pillars aren’t separate silos. Each are constantly moving, overlapping and influencing each other, as is true in life. As is true for your body.
Why This Matters
Summit County isn’t a normal place. People don’t just “work out” here. They live to be active. They ski hard. Ride long. Run steep. Push limits. Optimize each season.
But the gap we keep seeing is that there’s a disconnect between healthcare, performance and longevity.
You either go to a clinic when you are hurt or go to a gym when you want to get stronger. Very few places actually connect these dots.
That is where Summit Sports Lab lives.
Who We Are
We’re not an insurance mill. We’re not a big-box system. And we are definitely not just another gym.
We are a team of multidisciplinary clinicians, coaches, and specialists who believe movement is foundational. Data should guide decisions and show results. Our community deserves better than guesswork.
We collaborate. We cross check. We build plans that actually make sense for the individual in front of us.
You’ll hear us talk about objective data. Not because it is a solid buzz word, but because if you cant measure something then you cant change it.
We use:
VO2 and metabolic exercise testing to get numbers on how your cardio engine performs.
Video motion capture for our bike fitting and running analysis.
Saddle pressure mapping to identify and recommend the best individual saddle for you.
Track power and load and range during your physical testing and we use easy measurements for body composition changes over time.
From there we build a plan and give you the wide eye view and the narrow means of what you need to do today to start the process.
Quick Reality Check
Most people train blindly. Live blindly.
They don’t know what their limits are, what zone their are training in, what their strength capacity is when to rest, when to push and just hope something clicks.
Sometime it does. Often it doesn’t. We can help guide the way.
Community > Everything
This next phase of SSL isn’t just about serving our community. It’s about showing up for consistently outside of the lab.
Living our best lives isn’t just about performance, its about connection. This year we are doubling down on that.
What’s coming in 2026
We are getting out of the lab and providing talks, joining rides and being vendors in community events:
Monthly Free Educational Talks at Gravity Haus (Breck and Vail)
Education talks at the Senior Center and with Summit Over 50
Being Present at the Silverthorne Health Fair
Hosting Group Bike Rides and Runs
Supporting:
SCOMBA’s Trail Work Days
Team Summit MTB
Cycle Effect
Race Breck in their Summit Series and Firecracker 50
Vendor for Breck Epic
Vendor at the GoPro Games in Vail
MUCH more to come!
Now onto the rest of 2026!
To be honest, we’ve been a bit quiet. That’s on us.
Now that systems and partnerships are in place, we will resume our monthly newsletters covering research and popular health topics.
Always feel free to respond with what you think and share the info with anyone you think might enjoy it.
If you are curious about something or would like us to deep dive into it, shoot a message our way!
Thanks for reading and please join us for any and all events. We are a health-forward, performance driven, longevity focused community who thrive in the mountains.
And we are just getting started.
